Speed Up Windows 10 & 11 in 5 Simple Steps

🖥️ How to Speed Up Windows 10 & 11 in

5 Simple Steps

Introduction:

If your computer feels slow or takes forever to load, you’re not alone. Over time, Windows 10 and 11 can start to lag due to unnecessary background apps, startup programs, or temporary files.

The good news? You don’t need to be a tech expert to fix it. In this guide, we’ll show you five simple yet powerful ways to speed up your Windows PC — no software required!

Steps:

1. Disable Unnecessary Startup Programs

When your PC starts up, many programs automatically launch in the background, slowing down boot time.
To manage them:

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.

  2. Go to the Startup tab.

  3. Right-click apps you don’t use frequently and select Disable.

Tip: Keep only essential apps like antivirus and drivers enabled.

2. Clear Temporary and Junk Files

Windows stores temporary files that can quickly fill your storage and slow your system.
To clean them up:

  1. Press Windows + R, type cleanmgr, and press Enter.

  2. Choose your system drive (usually C:).

  3. Select all boxes (like Temporary Files, Recycle Bin) and click OK.

Alternatively, you can use:
Settings → System → Storage → Temporary files → Remove files.

Tip: Do this once every month to keep your PC smooth.

  • Delete Temporary files in Here.
3. Uninstall Unused Software –

Go to Settings → Apps → Uninstall programs you don’t use.

  • Right click Windows ( Startup) Icon , Then Select Settings

  • Then Select Apps and next select Installed apps

  • Then Select Uninstall programs you don’t use.
  • Then click small 3 dots in right hand side and click Uninstall.

4. Optimize Hard Drive –
Use Defragment and Optimize Drives tool.
  • Press Windows Key and type search box "Defragment and Optimize Drives"

  • Then Analyze and Optimize

Tips

  • Frequency: Windows 10/11 usually auto-optimizes SSDs weekly and HDDs monthly. You can change this by clicking Change settings in the tool.

  • Do not defragment SSDs frequently; just let Windows optimize them automatically.

  • Close programs while optimizing HDDs for faster operation.

5. Update Windows and Drivers

Outdated software and drivers can cause performance issues or even errors.
Keep your system up-to-date:

  • Go to Settings → Windows Update → Check for updates.

  • To update drivers:

    1. Press Windows + X → Device Manager

    2. Right-click your hardware → Update driver

Tip: Always restart your PC after major updates for full effect.

Bonus Tip: Restart Regularly

Many users put their PC to sleep for days without restarting. Restarting clears background processes and frees memory — a simple fix that often improves performance instantly.

Conclusion

By following these five simple steps, you can make your Windows 10 or 11 PC noticeably faster and smoother — without spending a cent.
Regular cleaning, updates, and smart settings are the keys to keeping your computer in top shape.
